Fujiyama

In the US we call these type of restaraunts Hibachi restaraunts. It derives from a Japanese word for an open topped heat proof container used to contain burning charcoal.

Elsewhere they are called Teppanyaki which I believe is formed from "teppan" meaning and iron plate and "yaki" meaning grill.

This is our favorite of our local restaraunts. The chefs like to put on a show juggling their cooking implements, throwing egss up into their hats and building volcanos such as the one you see here made from the piled up rings of a slice of onion and filling it with oil. The kids love it... the chef has become the Fireman and the restaraunt is now referred to as the fireplace. Its great fun and the food is really good too.

See it more fiery detail large!
