Snails' trails

Each morning this week, I have been drawn to the sight of glinting, silvery trails on the paving outside my kitchen, like silk on the stones. So, this morning I tried to capture the view. I can't work out why there is such a swirl: there was no food source. Maybe the snails were just having fun in the sun.
