Day 4 - Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard
Left Hyannis and drove west to Woods Hole to catch our ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The Fiat 500 entertained the ferry workers - "I've seen a lot of cars but not one of those!". I think they welcomed its small size on the car deck. Glorious blue skies accompanied the crossing, and a hot chocolate and cookie were enjoyed by us.
Soon docked in Vineyard Haven and there to greet us was Alan who'd got the coach and ferry earlier in the day. Made our way to our amazing house which is home for three days - I think we're just going to move in permanently. Then we did a quick tour of the east of the island, seeing Oak Bluffs (quaint painted wooden houses, had lunch in a lovely deli) and Edgartown (stunning stunning stunning). At the latter we saw the very small Chappaquiddick ferry (well, moving platform - see above) so J and Alan paid the $4 return fare and made a quick visit to the Kennedy related island, Alan being chuffed he could tick it off.
Dropped Alan off back at the ferry, had a coffee on Main Street, then shopped for some groceries for dinner. Now settling down for an evening of blueberry beer, Californian Pinot Noir, meats and cheeses and Dancing With The Stars.
Martha's Vineyard is stunning - we fell in love with the Cape in 2008 but this place beats it easily. Heaven.
