National & University Library of Iceland

The Icelanders are most famous for the old sagas and for a long time they were kept here. But then this big house was built on the old soccer field and I think it is an all right building. I spent some time here during my study of ethnology and folklore in the university 2006-2008. There is an adorable stone wall around the building but what I found strange is that there is a moat around the house and the old manuscripts are kept in the cellar!
Because of the moat there is a bridge over it and this picture is a view from it. The large building to the right is The National Museum of Iceland and... Yes, you see Hallgrimskirkja form every part of Reykjavik - even my home.
