inspired by spring blossom
'Spring is bustin' out all over!' ( to miss-quote Rodgers and Hammerstein). The gardens in bungalowland have suddenly come alive. Pussy willows are covered in powdery pollen, to the delight of the first bumble bees. The camelias are clothed in a profusion of waxy flowers and the forsythia simply glows from a great distance. This one is in our own garden. I gave it a severe pruning in the winter. Adrian thought I had killed it. I think he has forgiven me now.
The canes mark the spots where we will plant native trees and shrubs. This is to be our woodland area. I think we are just in time to plant bare rooted specimens. I always thought the planting season was while there was an 'R' in the month, but, with global warming, I think that has changed. They will have to be in before the end of the month.
