Gardens of Surprise

Yesterday was gloriously beautiful weather here. So I decided to make a picnic and head off to Burghley in Stamford where I have a annual pass. I have to admit that Burghley is one of my favourite places on earth, not just in Aug/Sept for the horse trials but the house and grounds. Our favourite bit is the Gardens of Surprise with the wonderful landscaped walks along the lake, hidden works of art amongst the tree, modern art that makes the children pause with wonder and awe and the fantastic water garden for splashing and paddling.

Hopefully we will spend many more sunny days there this year.
