Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
This morning we had a large Wellingtonia or Sequoia in the corner of our garden. Now we have just a huge pole with no branches. We asked last August for this tree to be felled mainly because it is much too close to neighbours for a tree of its size. The planning mafia at the council believe that nothing green should be cut and in their view our tree was a "visual amenity". But eventually common-sense won through and yesterday a tree-shredder and a cherry-picker appeared in our parking area. Today the tree was shorn of all its branches. Here you can see our treeman hacking away at the crown and a small falling branch in mid-flight below. Here is a shot which gives a sense of scale.
On Monday the fellers will return with a proper (not a "Black & Decker") saw to get rid of the trunk
