Speug

He hasnae the eyes uv an eagle,
an he's no' gote the stoop uv a hawk,
an he's certainly no' like a parrot
that sits oan a perch just tae talk.
But see when it comes tae scrounging from bums
Well, he's the wee cock o' the walk.
An his tail's no' as long as a peacock's,
Nor his neck no' as proud as a swan,
An his wee legs are no' like a heron's,
But he's nippy. an tough. an he's thrawn.
So, if ye see a wee burd that looks happy,
An he flies through the air without care,
Its probably Shug, the gallus wee speug,
On his way hame to Glesca's George Square.
