ALICE IN WONDERLAND
We went South this weekend to visit my parents and to enjoy the final performance of Alice in Wonderland, produced by Newbury Youngstars at the Arlington Arts Centre. It was just brilliant. G's granddaughter, who was a flower with a speaking part, was ever so brilliant., and that's from a totally unbiased opinion. The whole performance, from the cast, the costumes, and the tremendous amount of work involved, was absolutely amazing. Well done all of them.
We spent the night in a nearby B&B pub. I must at once say that the breakfast was superb, thank you. But blimey, the price of drinks down south are a bit steep though! I must be going Yorkshire.
This is a photo of the mantelpiece next to our breakfast table. The pub was a Blipper's paradise and a cleaner's nightmare. Why there was a rope of garlic draped over the long-stopped clock was debatable. The whole place was filled with old books, old things, old things I didn't even know what half of them where for. But a Blipper's paradise nonetheless.
