Kirrie dumplings
I had never heard of the Drumstick primula being referred to as a Kirrimuir Dumpling until I moved to Alyth. Having spent the earlier part of my life on the West coast I knew it by it's common name or Primula denticulata.
I can see what they mean though.....
Spent a happy morning ploutering (another good local word) about the shops up the Kingsway. There's a craft shop up there that has a fantastic selection - if a bit pricey. Homebase and B&Q's gardening sections were tedious in the extreme but I did get some offcuts for painting on and the grow-bags I needed.
Back to the garden today. My fruitcage to protect the peas came yesterday.
The sparrows round here love pea shoots - never had that problem before I moved here. Got you now though!
