Today's the day ............................... to make a detour

We made a bit of a detour today through the Scottish Borders on our way home from Edinburgh. We drove up to the Talla Dam and then over the top to the Megget Reservoir and St Mary's Loch and back down past the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall to Moffat.

We went close to the 5,000 acre Talla-Gameshope Estate which is up for sale with a closing date for bids, tomorrow at 12.00pm. The John Muir Trust along with the Borders Forest Trust is hoping that their bid will be the successful one - so that they can restore the estate to wild land where nature will flourish and people will be able to enjoy this very special place.

I could have shown you any number of pictures of wild and rugged landscape but this borders ram with his incredible horns just stole the show .....................
