Glasses

I was just going through the glass cupboard (i.e. the cupboard where we store glasses) when I came across these two specimens.

It's interesting how glasses (or anything else) can bring back memories. The Millennium Champagne glass is from a 1999 New Year Eve party. Memories of this get rather foggy towards the end of the evening, we were with friends and the wine flowed freely. I think I was poured into the car around about one a.m. New Year's Day 2000 was spent mainly in bed feeling ill and hungover - never again (well at least not until the next Millennium New Year).

I came across the tankard whilst I was clearing out my Dad's flat after his death two or three years back. He was a great beer drinker and introduced me to the questionable pleasures (now real ale only, in moderation). I'm not sure where he obtained the glass, but he must have been very pleased to find a glass with his name on.
