Notes to self ....

I just love stationery so this lunchtime went for a sniff and a feel in Paperchase.

Kendall's writeup about food banks, and my response, got me thinking in a bit more detail about the challenge I have right now. To reduce my weekly 'allowance' from £10 to £5. Actually it's really simple: the £5 will go on my weekly uke class which I do in addition to my occasional practice sessions with Neil.

Thinking hard, I really do not need that other fiver.
I cycle to work and I bring lunch
the choir have agreed that I don't need to pay any subs until such time as finances improve
I can buy batteries for my camera out of the weekly grocery shop budget
I have mastered the art of cutting my own fringe without it looking like someone wearing a blindfold has done it
I don't need to buy a newspaper because news is available online
I have an unlimited supply of books from the library

I was really pleased to hear that Strawberry Fair, a lovely 1-day music festival that is free to attend, is happening again this year on 2nd June in Cambridge. Hopefully by then Roland will have experienced more train delays and claimed enough compensation vouchers to pay for the rail fare for us both between Norwich and Cambridge.

Jobs to apply for seem to be drying up, which is worrying to say the least, but I live in hope. And at least I still have a job.
