Trip up to Asheville NC

Began the southern road trip yesterday morning from Gainesville to Asheville, NC. Took an 8 hour drive through Georgia and South Carolina until meeting up with Luke. Luke is a friend from Berkeley that I met during my Nairobi studio trip last summer. He also won the Branner around three years ago. He is involved with a bunch of community work in an around Asheville. The photo is of a community design build project he and some local students did last summer. Its a small space for kids to do crafts (Asheville has quite a lot of arts and crafts and is known for their brewerys!) and experiment with found materials/objects around the town.

Next stop: Durham, NC!
