A Perfect Ending....
to a very remarkable day, indeed!
It is incomprehensible that only a couple of days ago, we received snow! Somehow, it is just too hard to wrap one's mind around how completely and quickly the weather changes!
Today, Husband and I took a "sunday ride" to the town of Geneva, located about thirty miles away. Murphy went along for the ride, while the kids stayed home. It was so warm and glorious, we drove the new Subaru with the moonroof wide open. Murphy sat in the back seat, totally delighted by the fresh air and scents making their way into the car.
We took our time and stopped at a tiny preserve, located alongside the busy Routes 5 & 20. I was disappointed not to see any waterfowl when we had visited Seneca Lake, but in this pond, there were several Canada Geese puttering about in the water. I imagine they are just passing through and decided to stop for a bit.
We have seen tremendous movement with the geese the past few days.
I chose this photo....we had begun driving back home with the sunlight screaming in from the western sky. I just love how that sunshine poured itself on the trees and reflected into the pond, adding color in a rather (otherwise) colorless palette.
