Turning Point

Fizz telephoned this morning to say that Ian had just completed the Cape Argus Cycle Tour and managed to reduce his time - Fantastic news! You can read about it in her first blip!

Hamish wasn't as keen as me to get out into the sunshine today and just wanted to vegetate. I suggested we take the camera to the wildlife centre at Camperdown Park.

We looked in to see GP on the way and collected several bags of old linen and blankets which I had promised to take to the Riverside recycling bins. I discovered an old Andy Pandy striped blue and white sheet from when I shared a nursery with my brother Alistair 40+ years ago. I used to wrap it around myself to dress-up as Nurse Nancy from the Twinkle comic.

The wildlife centre looks very different from when H last visited. All the animals were out enjoying the warmth and attention which the good weather had brought. This donkey was quick to greet us. Years ago there were donkey rides at the park - I don't expect such a thing exists nowadays - even in Blackpool!

Later, GP and I went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - a film crammed with familiar faces. The acting is superb and we laughed a lot, which was exactly what we both needed.
