Small Modification

Going to make a small modification to the wiring of my down lighters tomorrow.

At the moment it's all done up with wire nuts, and I hate them. Although the wire nuts can take multiple connectors, the wire just bunches up horribly which adds tension to everything. Plus I've had to extend the wire because 5 wires (regardless of the instructions) just pulls apart, so I had to stagger the connections.

So I got hold of a terminal block (2 of them - $10 each!!!), made some cross over pieces and tomorrow I'll pull those horrid wire nuts off the wire, remove the little extension cable I made, and replace it with this block and a block for ground. Hopefully I can pull the cables together so they aren't under tension, and are screwed in tightly. If they are screwed in properly I can rest easy.

And with the hole in the ceiling, it'll be much easier to this work - maybe 10 minutes.
