Metal offcuts

I was walking from Stromness along the Ness road and saw these shapes which are, I assume, offcuts from the manufacture of some large objects nearby which may be some kind of wave-power experimental equipment.

I continued along the shore and made coffee in the lee of some rock, then up to the Ness Battery. I was there for a guided tour of the camp which is from world war two and had just been greatly refurbished. It was in very good condition anyway- the site has always been fenced off and the buildings didn't suffer the depredations of vandals etc that other sites have. Very interesting tour.
