Oh Sunny Day!

Lit up by warm spring sunshine, these Narcissus bulbocodium are pure gold. Widespread in Spain, these originate from over the straits of Gibraltar in the mountains of Morocco. I bought one bulbs a few years ago, these are its offspring, raised from seed. These 'hoop petticoat' narcissus have a very long flowering season in their different forms. I blipped one of the early ones back on 25th November.

So many Blip opportunities today in the sunshine. The warm weather rushes the flowers along, I'd rather it cooled off a bit, flowers last longer that way. Various narcissus, the last of the snowdrops and crocuses, anemones, scillas, the first pulsatilla and saxifrage, all vying for attention.

Amy, our youngest went to Fiddlesticks, a music event for young violinists where she played in a string orchestra. Great experience as they not only played in a concert at the end of the afternoon but also spent the day learning new pieces and making new friends. The event was in St Andrews & Blackfriars halls which, as the name suggests, are ancient monastic buildings bought by the city at the time of the dissolution. A super venue for any concert, brilliant for the kids and a sure blip ... for another day!
