Helter-skelter

A tree-mendous day!

It was forecast to be a beautiful day so after horseriding I took the kids up to Kew Gardens. They hadn't been before and it was a nightmare to start with. The train journey was dreadful, with broken points causing delays and Sunday-service schedules meaning almost an hour wait for one connection. Then when we finally got there, the kids began a chorus of 'I'm hungry.', 'It's too hot!', 'Plants are boring' and 'Who wants to walk around looking at trees?', etc. My daughter also very smugly informed me that I don't 'work' for Kew as I'm only a volunteer. Hrmph. I'm obviously not raising botanists!

Anyway, it was a beautiful day and by the end the kids didn't want to leave. As well as all the lovely gardens and glasshouses to wander through there were also a couple of adventure play areas which they loved... and a treetop walkway which you can see a picture of here but no way was I going up it!

As you can imagine there were no end of wonderful photo opportunities but on the way back to the station we saw this funny tree and it had to be my blip for the day!
