Enjoying the day
And what a day. Fantastic sunshine and actually some warmth. We set off about 9am (just in case the day changed!) to drive to Boltby village where we parked the car. It is one of my favourite of the hillside villages and has a sort of 'Brigadoon' quality in that it suddenly appears in a little valley when you round a corner.
Set off up towards Little Moor and the jacket I had on was definitely not needed by the time I had climbed for 10minutes. These horses, about a dozen of them, were grazing in a glorious spot with a view west to the far Dales.
Made it on to the Cleveland Way for a stretch before dropping down through fields back to the village.
After lunch I grabbed the trog and began an assault on the borders in the garden. I wasn't able to get very far but the difference is satisfying. There is a nuthatch showing great intetrest in one of the nest boxes. The hole has been enlarged slightly as a result to give him the dimensions he needs. Watch this space!
Visit to chapel and then a very frustrating time in phone calls trying to re-arrange a date for the annual theatre evening. A mistake made intitially (not mine!) meant there was a double booking. Intransigence on the part of a couple of groups brought me close to cancelling. However, thanks to the Beavers leader we now have a date though the Bee Keepers aren't too happy. Honestly it's a mine field!
