Random Things
The time got to 11.45pm and I remembered I had not taken the daily blip so I had a mad rush. Both the camera and my phone were out of charge so I had to use hubby's iPhone. These are a few items in my lounge.
A vase from a shop in Accrington.
A Burmese Dancer; my husband's paternal grandfather was a soldier in Burma during WW2, many years after the war he returned with another veteran soldier four a holiday, he returned with the dancer. He has now passed away and he left this for Ashley and she lives with us now.
The painting is by a Leeds based artist called Oliver Neilson. I bought the painting a couple of years ago and I love it. The face has a sensitive expression, I want to get a few more pieces of his, you can have a look at his work here
www.oliverneilson.co.uk .
The other frame that you can't see is an embroidery that has been handed to me by my uncle that was originally owned by my grandma. It was made by a women's art collective and all profits of the sales went to anti nuclear and environmental campaigns. I did not realise that my grandma was concerned about such issues, and it makes me feel very proud.
The Pine Cone is from central France. We went to Eurodisney with Nat many years ago and stayed in a little town called Elche on the outskirts of Paris. It was such a lovely place and we had lots of walks around the town, Nat collected lots of pine cones and they came back to live with us in Oswaldtwistle.
