The natural shaggy windbreak would ideally require a trim in these early months. However, such an 'unshaven haven' proves invaluable for the local troupe of feathery songsters. The friendly hedge has overwintered, overgrown and obligingly continues to gets one over, on all local lurking felines in favour of the avian population.
The blip is hardly optimal, but I was pleased to get all all 5 of the family group as they tweeted chirpily throughout the day - safely cocooned in their twiggy fortress. It seemed fitting that at least half the picture was protected and distanced by the swaying stronghold of sticks.
