Ascot evening

A bit of a rush this evening. Left work late, needing to be ready by 7.30 to go out but arriving home 7.12. Oh dear. This is a photo of Ascot Station as I arrived. It is under construction but I really don't know what they are doing. I just know that they will need to be done in time for Royal Ascot week!

It was parents night at the school last night --- well done Josh who is receiving some encouraging reports. Tonight's event was in support of Ascot United football club. I enjoyed the dinner and speeches more than last year and it was a good evening out for me. I learned a little bit more about the club which has been going since 1964. There were even 7 players from the 1965 youth team there this evening. They are known as the Old Boys.

With 68 youth teams now, will any of them stay in touch in such a way?

I then had a go at encouraging a bit of favouritism by the Heads & Tails guest judges. I received a smile and a nod when my choices left me in the last 10 but my luck ran out and I received a sorry shake of the head. Onwards to speeches, by Ray Parlour and a comedian.

It is no longer Friday but the early hours of Saturday.
