Swallows and Amazons

Slightly later than the rest of the world, the kids dressed up for Book Day today. They chose to go as John Walker and Peggy Blackett aka Swallows and Amazons. Thankfully straightforward enough costumes and made the kids happy as J has missed wearing shorts to school and Anna got to wear make-up (of sorts) and boots. There's always a great atmosphere in the playground when there's a dress up day and today the teachers really topped it off by all dressing up as Wally from Where's Wally?

The week continues to dance forward a few steps (we think/hope the bed bugs have been vanquished and we are going to risk normal bedding tonight, my head is slightly less fuggy than yesterday, J's football team won and the bathroom is making progress) and stumble back a couple (new leak in the kitchen, some frustrating work stuff).

Ending on a high though with a curry de Carlos and movie in the offing.
