International Women's Day: Men in suits

They take International Women's Day seriously here in Lithuania. No sooner had we stepped out of the hotel to walk to the office this morning than my colleague Elina was stopped in the street by a charming man with a bunch of rose in his arms who handed her a rose and wished her a happy Women's day.

I duly felt obliged to shower all women I met today with tulips (the favoured flowers) or at least I got a large bunch to give to the ladies in reception who are always so helpful.

A bit later, a group of men (in suits) arrived with a bucket of tulips and gathered round the reception desk to solemnly wish the two ladies a wonderful day and give them more flowers. They then went off to do the same for other female colleagues.

Irony of sorts, there are so many men you can't see the women...
