Buzzed by the noisy Buzzards

The birds have been fabulous during our visit. Today was the ultimate. OK the spunky twittering sparrows have apparently been whittled down from 14 to 11 due to various natural causes afoot. The pigeons are paired & co-habit the barn with a blackbird and robins, while occasional starling murmurations ripple above the fields. Today however was the buzzards time. Barry & Beatrix (was it Barry?) - the pair of Buzzards that have adopted Tom's field (rodent inspired snacks might have something to do with this) did several languid fly-bys while we dug holes & heaved posts, later three more joined them and occupied the sky - looking like previous brood members. Five swooping, wheeling masters of the sunset air at once - amazing. A fab aerial show to end a productive day.
