The high road

Research

Something completely different today, not even a good blip but a good reflection of my day! It rained all day, which was great as I was able to pursue my other rainy day and dark winter evening addiction, geneology! The other one of course is browsing all the wonderful blip journals!
So my research today was to establish if my seventh great grandfather John Hurdle, born 1692, in Dorset, married Sarah Cheeseborough, born 1695, a lassie from West Yorkshire, that was quite a distance, back then and would seem improbable to me but researchers who have gone before say they did! In which case, Robert Westerman, Christened in 1576, in West Yorkshire would be my 10th great grandfather!
So after hours of pouring over ancient parish records, drinking numerous cups of tea and munching my way through the best part of a tray of flapjacks, I still haven't found the evidence I'm looking for! Although looking at photos of records that are over 500 years old has been very exciting and I love the detective work!
