The Great Glen, US style
Backblip honeymoon Day 3
We were very generously given a trip to the Grand Canyon as a wedding present (thanks Scamp!) After an early morning journey to a fancy 'executive' airport, we flew over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon in a wee 6 seater plane, before landing on the west rim of the Canyon in an Indian reservation. We brought our cheap tripod and managed to get some pictures of the 2 of us, like this one.
Despite the sunshine it was very cold here. It is also hard to convey the scale of it in a picture. It was absolutely vast and went on as far as the eye could see. Helicopters looked like specks on the horizon. Had a delicious barbeque lunch and took a ton of photos before flying back.
Spent the afternoon doing more sight-seeing. Wandered around some of the hotels, took a gondola ride in the Venetian (in their indoor, first floor canal), went to Paris (the hotel not the city) where LH even succumbed to a chocolate cocktail! In the evening we headed to the South end of the Strip and did a wee bit of gambling in the slot machines. Our favourite was the roulette, our least favourite were all the other ones that appear to just be random!
