Sidewalk Cleaning in Paris

The sidewalk cleaning truck passed under our 4th floor apartment this morning, despite rain forecast for the afternoon (which did drench the afternoon Six-Nations rugby match between France and Ireland at the Stade de France--it was a draw, 17-17). The details are fun, especially viewed large.

The support for the hose can be raised over poles when needed--it's a very efficient system. A smaller vehicle is used for some narrow alleys, as you see here behind our apartment, in the Square des Peupliers.
