The Holy Family

I bought this carving of the nativity from a workshop in Bethlehem. It is made of Olive wood and so it comes out as a centre piece at Christmas. The figures are in two parts with Joseph extending an arm around Mary and she cradling the baby Jesus.
I like how the carver has used the grain of the wood to represent the folds of the clothes.
