Le Monde from the Metro
This is Le Monde's headquarters in Paris (one of the two leading newspapers in France, with Le Figaro) viewed from Line 6 on the Metro (above-ground here). I've had this view dozens of times but never blipped it. Fun to view large, to see a few interior lights at the top left, and cut-off branches on the trees below.
We were on our way to the Memorial to Maréchal Leclerc and the Liberation of Paris; it's above Gare Montparnasse and a bit tricky to find. It was fascinating, with photos and videos, with extensive texts--in 90 minutes we probably properly saw barely 1/2 of the displays. On a floor above was a large-scale 360 degree panorama of continuous video clips and photos of the liberation--quite amazing.
Then we returned to our neighborhood (the 13th) for lunch in Chinatown, before sending our friend Liz off to her train back to London.
