Happy New Years!

Spotted this wee man walking up and down the beach in front of our hotel. It's still hard to get my head round the fact that little kids have to work for a living.

No one bats an eyelid at them, but I'd imagine New Years is just another day for these guys. I wonder what they make of the affluence & idle relaxation that they see all round them.

In so many respects Mexico is just like any 1st world country I've been to, but then again, in so many other respects, it's not.

I had hoped to put up photos of the fireworks display that brought in the New Year on the very beach where I took this photo. But free flowing booze and a lack of a tripod conspired to make most of the shots I took utterly useless.

90 taken, 3 (after some heavy-duty post-processing) were SALVAGED.
