My Leaving Do

Feels a little silly putting a photo of myself on blip but due to my woeful performance taking photos during the month of July, I left my camera with Peter for the evening and unfortunately, I seem to appear in most photos!

I was very moved by the wonderful party that was put on by my new friends. As I called my tent my château, I became known as Laura Princesse so at the party was crowned Queen of Kervilon (I'm next to François, the real King of Kervilon as he owns the farm). That's the explanation for the flower crown.

I have learnt so much from the people that I spent the summer with: how to crochet, bake bread, make jam, lots of cakes, make ice-cream, crepes and galettes, work in the fields, meditate, dance Breton dances.... I often worried that I didn't bring much to the group other than friendship and hard work and...kir o' clock (oh dear, what a contribution). It all began with an English lesson in the main square when my pupil and I thought why not have the lesson over a cheeky kir? Kir o'clock was born. The apero (or apperatif) is very important in French life so kir o'clock was also important (honestly)!

The party began with a royal Kir o'clock then a great meal (as always), lots of music, singing and dancing. Oh and some homemade pear rum, (that's the big jar at the front of the picture).

Merci beaucoup tout le monde!
