Donald Dewar

Went into Glasgow today by bus. Usually go by train but thought I would try the bus. It was good giving me the opportunity to read my book on the journey.

I had given thought to this week's challenge - remember, and decided to take a photo of the statue to Donald Dewar who was Scotland's first ever First Minister. It was his vision that Scotland should have its own parliament. He became First Minister on 17th May 1999. Unfortunately he died in office on 11th October 2000 from a brain haemorrhage. His spectacles were a sort of trade mark and they have been stolen from his statue several times. Glad to see he was wearing them today.
