Hmmmmmm....

Maybe I should take that bigger one. It probably tastes better than this puny one I picked up.

Sometimes the chickadees seem to hesitate over which peanut to pick, and sometimes they manage to pick up two or three at the same time. My mother would have said their eyes are bigger than their stomachs.

Yesterday the chickadees were eating out of my hand again. It is the strangest sensation when they land on my hand to pick up a peanut. They weigh next to nothing, but their little claws have a tight grip. Then, peanut in beak, off they fly!
