inspired by a frozen puddle

We went to see my sister in Manchester today. Moving to Kendal has reduced a day's journey to a one hour train journey and a fifteen minute city bus ride.

Not content with an ordinary front door to her semi- detached house, my sister commissioned a stained glass artist in Leeds to produce a design reminiscent of a smashed frozen puddle. The design fills the circular window in the door, and the glass surrounds.

She wanted splashes of brilliant colours which would leave patterns on the walls of her hall when the sun shone, and would cheer passers by in the dark when the hall light was on. It must have put smiles on the faces of many passers by, and has certainly made my sister very happy.
