Bhaktapur Puppet.

Bhaktapur is an ancient city in Nepal. This puppet has the God ' Bhairab' with the black face on one side and Ganesh ( elephant God) on the other side. They both wear the original mask and dress that dancers have performed here in Bhaktapur since 1445 AD.
It takes three days for the Puppet to be made : one day for the mask maker, one day for the wood carver to make the hands and others like the carpenter, weaver, tailor and assembly woman to complete it.
The city is a journey back in time - I bought this one in Durbar Square, Bhaktapur when I visited Nepal. -- My favourite country in all my travels.
