Had to bring Mickey to the University clinic
copy and paste of my message on Facebook:
"Today I went to my bird vet Peter Bastiaansen with Mickey. Most of you know that she has cushings disease. since last Saturday she didn't eat and drink well, and I saw that she had troubles with breathing. The X-ray had as a result seeing that her liver was bigger than big, it was also in her lower body ánd there was a lot of damp in her body, also near her lungs. That is what causes the breathing problem. Suddenly she paniced and was breathing very very heavely, so I paniced too! Peter immediately put her in an oxygen cage with a warm lamp. He contacted the vet in Utrecht (who diagnosed the cushing) and also tried to get some damp/water out of her body. He got in total 2cc and there was also blood in it. Not good. I descided to bring her to the university hospital in Utrecht, Mickey is a patient there too and there they can do more research than at my own vet's. I had to leave her there. She is in an oxygan tank with infusion and crop feeding.. if she still is stable tomorrow they will do an echo. I told that doc (Yvonne) that I want/need a honest diagnose because I need to know if it is life worthy for my baby. If not?? than I have to put her down. I just can't think of that right now. I am too sad.."
