Homespun Charms

Here come the boys.

Had a very good walk this morning on a new route. Left the car at one of the Hillside villages and made our way up the fields and into forestry land. It was still muddy in places but manageable and much drier than last week's experience! A steep climb took us up toward the moor and the views across to the Dales is always rewarding. Signs of Spring, catkins and sprouting leaves. Dropped down eventually to walk a short distance on the road back to the car. Passed this field which had many tups. Usually, in our small local fields we see them singly but this farmer has a lot of sheep and so I guess these boys will have been busy. I think they are beautifully marked with their black faces and 'leggings'. Everyone's idea of a sheep!
Off to chapel this afternoon and the good news is my neighbour feels well enough to go. She has been out of action for a week or two and getting out of the house always makes her feel better.
Was hoping for a bit more sunshine today but the grey skies have persisted. Maybe tomorrow - itching to do some work in the garden but it needs to be a bit warmer and brighter than this!
