Vanity

That's a weird looking picture, said the contraptioneer.
Morning and nighttime, said I.
It looks like you're looking through something.
You mean, like the car window? Frost, foggy glass...sunny morning?
What's that at the bottom?
Annie's Cottage, tonight, in the rain.

Well, it has been a different sort of week. Nothing special about either photo, but together, they express the differentness of it all.

On the drive home, I thought of the writer who writes their own story. When you need to write, and the only life you know in depth is your own, then is it vanity to write about it, or is it simply the thing you know the best, and hold the truest insights into. It's certainly possible to avoid being a busy body and mind your own business when you are writing about your own little snippets of life and not digging up those that belong to someone else.

Here we are, blipping our little lives, and they are the most interesting little snippets of true life. Vanity? I think not.

More like 'show and tell'. We did it in Kindergarten, and we were encouraged to do it. Mother Comfort loves to tell about her life too. She did some sharing with my friend and I today, and said it was sure nice to be back 'home' today. The Adult Care Home is now 'home'. At least today. I'm relieved. At least today.

Late edit: I neglected to mention that, after being friendly and allowing my Sheepish Contraptioneer to pet her, Pepsi had changed her mind by the time he returned. Poor little thing. Her world has changed so much too and we were hoping she would tame down a bit. Maybe she will yet.
