My Day, My Life

Monster (what's that coming over the hill)

As a small boy I loved watching old black and white horror films, Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff.

They were scary without being gory.

When I was a little older, Hammer came a'knocking in the evening!

Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, they thrilled and chilled!

Bloody scary they were and I used to make sure ALL the lights were switched on before I went anywhere!

Then by the time I'd reached my teens it was the characters who were the stars, rather than the actors who played them.

Jason Voorhees(Friday The 13th) Michael Myers(Halloween) and Freddie Krueger(Nightmare On Elm Street

Now when these 'guys' were around, you made sure you had company. just in case!

Well I'm not quite sure what happened to the genre between then and now because films such as Saw 1-6, Hostel or even, if you can stomach it The Human Centipede don't entertain me in the least.

In fact I'd say if anything, they were more of an endurance. Of course the box office tells a different story.

What a lot of sick people there are out there!

BOO!

Did I scare you?

Night, night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs.............bite

;)
