They knew the show was going to over run, it was live after all. So there was every likelihood Blur were going to be cut off mid song. The sensible thing would've been, let Adele finish her speech and then a couple of numbers from the lads.

Of course when does common sense and suits ever come into it in the music business?

Without music there is no business!

Next time, think first, act later, I think 2 or 3 minutes would've done it!
