Great Falafel in Paris!

This is L'As du Fallafel, a modest restaurant on the Rue des Rosiers in the Jewish quarter (part of the Marais district). It is run by Israelis; though it offers a broad middle-eastern menu, the falafel is the feature, and it is superb. We invariably order just the generous falafel "sandwich" (in a pita--7.50 euros each, ca. $10, which we consider reasonable); it contains a lovely salad with shredded cabbage, cucumber, eggplant etc. (L'As is French for "the Ace"--"the best", and it is!) View it in large for details, including the cards :)

There's always a line, in our experience; the gentleman in the center (more friendly than I captured him) hands out a numbered slip. (The line on the left is for take-out.) We actually waited less than ten minutes today, and were served in barely half that after sitting down. Turnover is amazing, in customers and certainly in euros as well.

We had just been to a a wonderful exhbition on the people of 19th century Paris, at the Musée Carnavalet, which is dedicated to the history of Paris. The exhibition displays everything imaginable to portray how people lived in the 1800's, and it has been very popular (lines here as well).
