Bankhall, Bretherton
Snowdrop fest continues.
Still my best place to see snowdrops with large drifts of white. Bank Hall dates from 1608 and was originally a Jacobean house that has been much extended. The Friends group have just be awarded £1.7m to restore the clock tower and entrance to public access while the rest of the building will be converted into appartments by Urbansplash property developers. There are plans to restore the old potting sheds and greenhouses and walled garden and the charity I manage has been asked to support the restoration.
