HEAT!
We just got back from Oruro today at 11ish in the morning, It was a very uncomfortable bus journey to say the least, but I managed to grab a few hours of sleep!
After a severe lack of sleep these past few days my body clock was totally confused. The bus dropped us right outside the apartment block which was nice. On the way up (to the 17th floor) the lift stopped and lights went out. It was the scariest thing and even worse that none of us had a mobile and couldn't find the alarm button. After a few minutes the lift took us back to the ground floor which the security man told us he had to turn the lift off as a dog had gotten caught somehow. Thankfully this story saved me from walking the 17 flights of stairs as I had planned. We got in the flat, made a bagel, showered and went to sleep around 1pm from which point my day vanished.
We slept all day until about 8, when the hunger began to kick in. Helena and I decided we fancied some chinese food but couldn't bring ourselves to leave the flat. After ringing at least 12 different chinese restaurants and being told time after time that they were closed we decided to downgrade to a pizza. However, due to carnaval it seems that everywhere had closed early. In the end we had to go out in the lovely rainy night and fortunately found a burger kiosk a couple minutes walk away. After that it was back to bed, with our new found love (the heater from the closet) and an episode of take me out!
