happy birthday to you!

Miles Dean turned one year old today. I've been so emotional all week, in disbelief that a year has gone by. But today was a perfect day and I was just so happy to be celebrating our wonderful son.

A quick summary of Miles at one year:

He loves to be held by Mama, and loves to play with Daddy. He loves to point at all lights & lamps and say, "ah-doh." He can crawl so fast, and walk when we REALLY encourage it, but usually for only a few steps at a time. He can say Mama and Dada and Hurley (Huh-day) and knows what they mean and who we are. He points to everything, and wants you to stop when he points to something and explain what it is. He can sign for "milk" and "sleep" and loves to babble about everything else. He likes his alone time in his crib before bed (Some nights we think he just fake yawns and pretends to rub his tired eyes so we put him to bed?because as soon as we're gone he's laying or sitting there talking to himself and his stuff animals?happy as can be). He likes to drink out of straws and also thinks its pretty funny to take a big sip and then spit out all the water. His favorite food is blueberries, but we found out today that he also loves cake! Here is Miles tasting his first cake today...he loved all the attention he got and applause when he started to throw the cake in the air.

We are so blessed to have a happy, healthy, sweet and independent little baby. He makes us smile everyday. We love you baby boy!!
