Abel Tasman

Early morning to get some panacakes in us and head off to Abel Tasman National Park.

Got there late morning so picked up some picnic supplies and headed off in to the wilderness. The scenery was breathtaking really. It's silly, but it's almost too pretty to take seriously. Like, I've seen views like that on TV and in pictures but when it's actually there for you to enjoy and feel the perfect temperatures and the freshness of the air it's something else. Not to sound too cliched. Had a bit of a tramp about along one of the paths, not really getting anywhere of any great accomplishment, given the size of the park, and playing some name game along the way. Headed back after a few hours and had a well deserved drink on the beach before making our way back to our hostel in Motueka. Picked up some beers on the way (of course - we're on our holidays) so shared them with some Germans (they're everywhere!) and had a chat with some other hostellers before bed.
