A Writer's Life

By Awriterslife

Foggy day

I spent the day mirroring the Empire State Building: I kept disappearing in the fog and the rain, barely awake as I struggled with the introduction of my paper. Actually, introducing is never easy when you are not really sure of what you intend to write. So I moved the same 2 paragraphs about 10 times, did some online window-shopping, read a page or two, and then gave up for the day.

The kids were sitting in the subway, all excited. The one with the blue coat in particular. He was telling his story, the girl listening, the mom zoning out. I decided that it was his birthday, and his mom was taking him and the other 3 kids to a movie. When they got out of the subway, they all had their helmet and scooter, and the 2 women struggled to follow them.
