Afternoon snack

Another gorgeous early spring day so my older daughter and I went for a walk along the cinder path. It has had that name for as long as I can remember, but unsure of the origin. The start of the walk follows a contour round the lower part of the Knock mentioned in yesterday's journal.

The views to the west are lovely, and in the background the Turret hills can be seen, still with patches of snow. We met several groups of people out enjoying the fine day. The path runs alongside a field, where some horses were grazing. They all had coats, indicative of a cold wind from the snowy peaks, which can sweep across this part of the Knock which is rather open to the elements. Today, however, they seemed well wrapped up and very contented as there was some good munching available!
